David Bradley Simpson

David Bradley “Brad” Simpson, 55, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. Born on February 9, 1968, in Gastonia, NC, Brad was a son of Janice Forbes Simpson Roberts and the late David G. Simpson. His three beloved dogs, Sergeant, Sadie and Maxwell preceded him in death.

Although born in Gastonia, Brad grew up in Monroe and was a 1986 graduate of Monroe High School. He was a member of the high school band and theater. His love of acting came early staring as the “Prince” in Cinderella, at only twelve years old, and continued into his adult years where he appeared in several local plays to include “Grease”, “The Hobbit” and “A Funny thing happened on the way to the Forum.” He was talented and loved by all. Well educated and dedicated, Brad was a Human Resource Manager within various companies throughout his career. A loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, Brad will be greatly missed.

Surviving in addition to his mother, Janice Roberts; are brothers, Jason Simpson (wife, Wendi), Christopher Roberts, Kevin Roberts (wife, Jamie); sister, Lisa Simpson; nephews and nieces: Ashe Simpson (wife, Tatiana), Jackson Simpson, Taylor Collins, Hayley Collins, Clark Roberts, Clara Roberts, Ani Roberts, Forbes Roberts, and Furman Roberts. His Uncle Joey Forbes (wife, Joyce); Aunt Margaret Belk, Aunt Patsy Goodwin (husband, Frank); and several cousins survive him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to ProMedica Hospice, 2050 Corporate Centre Drive, Unit 220, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
