Donald B. Wolford - passed away March 16, 2019 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Roanoke, VA to George and Ruth Wolford on October 16, 1940, Don was the eldest of four children.
Shortly after graduating from Jefferson High School, Don entered the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for 20 years and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his military career, Don worked in Goldsboro, NC as a field technician with the National Cash Register Corporation. In 2005 he retired and moved to Little River, SC where he enjoyed numerous golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area and volunteering at the VFW and American Legion. Don was a hard-working man who was loyal to his family and took great pride in caring and providing for them.
Don, a Vietnam Veteran, is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jacqueline Elsdon Wolford of Little River, SC; his son, Dean Wolford and wife, Kathy, of Arlington, VA; two grandchildren, Brittany Wolford of Little River, SC and Bryan Wolford and wife and step great-grandson, of Colorado-Springs, CO; his two brothers, Jim Wolford of Roanoke, VA and Larry Wolford of Harrisonburg, VA. In addition to his parents, George and Ruth Wolford, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Wolford.
A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on March 22, 2019 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 11840 Hwy 90, Little River, SC 29566.
