It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Marie Davis. She went to sleep peacefully for a routine procedure on the morning of February 5 and awoke in the presence of Jesus. Born on October 12, 1960, to Hassie (Bolden) and Horace McMahan, she spent her childhood and young life in the beautiful mountains of east Tennessee before moving to coastal Carolina, where she spent the last 25 years of her life.
Donna was known for her strong will, independence, and determination. She began her personal relationship with the Lord as a young girl and recently shared with her close friend how she knew it was His Grace and presence that brought her through the difficult times she faced in life. She was most proud of her children and grandchildren and their accomplishments, celebrating their successes with joy and pride. Donna had a passion for camping; spending time in the mountains of her childhood, especially in the fall of the year; and organizing family reunions; creating memories that will last a lifetime. She appreciated the simple pleasures in life, like watching the birds from her porch, evening talks with her husband on the swing, seeing her flowers bloom in the spring, and watching her grandkids play. She also loved crafting and was an entrepreneur at heart. She explored various business ventures throughout her lifetime that reflected her creativity, innovative spirit, and determination.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hassie and Horace McMahan; brother, Floyd McMahan; and several special aunts and family members. She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Davis of Longs, SC; sons Craig (Carla) Brewer of Bean Station, TN, and Christopher (Crystal) Shumate of Little River, SC; daughter Kendra Ramsey of Longs, SC; brother Jeff McMahan of Mooreland, GA; grandchildren Landree, Ridge, and Josie Brewer; Norah Shumate; and Kash Antone, as well as a host of special friends, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and countless business acquaintances who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held on February 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lee Funeral Home in Little River, SC and the burial will occur immediately thereafter at the North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens; Pastor Bill Wines of the Christian Church of Longs, where she enjoyed attending, officiating with music by close friend, like a sister, Mrs. Patsy Fowler.
Rest in peace, our dear Mom, wife, Nana, and friend. Your love, faith, and strength will forever be a guide to us until we meet again.
