Great-grandmother of Erin, Riana, and Bryan Kelley, Autumn Breznay, and London and Karis Rawlinson. Great-great grandmother of Maxwell Kelley. Beloved sister of George Kanas (Gerri), Albert Kanas (Thelma), and Maryann Rich (Alex), all of whom preceded her in death. Beloved sister of Lillian Verna (Andrew deceased); June Campane (Eugene deceased); Cecilia Heckler (Donald), Thomas Kanas (Judy) and Shirley Schmidt (Howard deceased). Dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. Born to George and Susan Kanas (nee Hadzima) in Johnstown, PA.
Dorothy spent most of her adult life in Cleveland before moving to Little River, SC. She was devoted to her family and loved to bake her famous Christmas cookies and amazing pies. She was retired from the Girls Department at the Higbee Company. Dorothy was an active member of St. Mel's parish in Cleveland where she had many friends and helped organize party events for the seniors. After moving to Little River, Dorothy enjoyed the beautiful weather, reading, working Sudoku and crossword puzzles, and playing Rummikub. She had an active social life going to karaoke with friends and family where everyone knew her as "Mom". Dorothy was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, and she enjoyed watching the Browns and participating in bingo nights at the Keefers.
A Catholic service at Saint Mel's Parish and interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will take place at a later date in Cleveland, Ohio.
