
Dorothy Marie Fife, 88, died Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Summit Place.
Born on November 25, 1928 in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose Joseph Hashem.
Dorothy enjoyed an amazing career as an executive secretary, starting with her education at Salter Secretarial School. She worked for a U.S. Senator, the Executive Vice President of Fireman’s Fund American Insurance Company, and 25 wonderful years as the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Operations at Bristol-Myers. Dorothy was also the owner/operator of a needlework shop in NJ. She loved knitting and crafts, playing golf and frequenting as many restaurants as she and her husband, Austin, could. In 1990, they moved to Little River, with the idea of playing many golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area.
Dorothy is survived by several cousins and is predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Austin Philip Fife.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, May 2 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will be private at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens.
