

Dean had a 22-year career in the Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. While living in Las Vegas, he served as Head of Operations for Skyline Casino. He retired in 2003 and moved to South Carolina to enjoy time with his family.
He had a long history of being quite the handyman, as there was nothing he couldn’t fix or a problem he couldn’t solve.
He will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering integrity, and love for his family. His humor and wisdom were gifts to everyone who knew him.
Dean was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine “Gerri” and son Ronald Dean Joyner.
He is survived by his sister, Alice Marie Etheridge; brother, Johnny Frank Joyner; His children, Elizabeth Darlene Joyner, William Joseph Joyner (his wife Donna Joyner), Emily Dawn “P-nut” Kirtz (her husband Robert Kirtz); five grandchildren, Joseph Joyner (Ariel), Justin Joyner (Brittany), Logan Joyner (Lyric), Ivy Paige “Princess Brat” Rinaldi (Steven), Zachary Kirtz (Emily); great-grandchildren, Lillian, Lyra, and Sebastian “Little Fella.”
