Edward R. Larsen

Edward Robert Larsen, 76, of Sunset Beach, NC, formerly of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, died Thursday, April 7, 2016.

Born in Bronx, NY on October 1, 1939, he was beloved husband of Barbara (Matsen) Larsen for 54 years. Preceding Edward in death are his son, Richard M. Larsen, his brother John Larsen and his sister Ruth (Larsen) Hoecker.

Besides his beloved wife, he is survived by his sons, Robert Edward Larsen of Lake Zurich, IL, Ronald Eric Larsen and his wife Margaret of Stroudsburg, PA, his daughter Cheri Lee (Larsen) Sanchez and her husband Juan of Swedesboro, NJ, and six grandchildren, Eric Dyer Larsen, Taylor Marie Larsen, Kyle Lardé Larsen, Ryan Edward Larsen, Justin Carl Sanchez, and Isabella Elizabeth Sanchez.

Following his service in the US Navy, Edward established a successful HVAC business in New York with his brother John, raising his family in Long Island, NY before retiring to Sunset Beach, NC in 2005. Although “work, church and home” was his mantra, there was always room for some golf, cards and a beer with friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. and Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home, 11840 Hwy 90, Little River, SC. Funeral service will be held on Monday April 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Risen Christ Lutheran Church, 10595 North Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC.
