It is with great sadness that the family of Ernest Claude Mangus, Jr. age 81, announces his passing on June 28, 2026, at 1:46 p.m. peacefully surrounded by his family and within his daughter's arms in Horry County, South Carolina. He was born March 20th, 1945, in Chesapeake Virginia and was the son of the late Ernest Claude Manga, Sr. and Edna Mangus.
Ernest was a very hard-working, funny and witty man. He was in construction his whole life, working on many big worldwide projects.
He was predeceased in death by his late wife Nancy Mangus and son Joshua Mangus. Survivors include daughter, Abigail Memes; granddaughters Savannah Mangus and Dakota Darnell; and two great granddaughters, Scarlett Mangus and Ellie Howard.
Cremation was performed at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, Little River, SC. A Celebration of Life will be held in August. Details will be announced at a later date.
