Ethel May Nemchick

Mrs. Nemchick, wife of the late Michael Peter Nemchick, was born on February 15, 1927 in Luzerne County, PA. She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Julia Kovanitz Hoffman. Gerri married Michael on August 14, 1948, and was a loving and protective wife until his passing on June 27, 2006. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the US Navy, the two welcomed their oldest of four children. Gerri was a strong, beautiful, and independent woman with a will of steel. She enjoyed tending to her garden and loved animals, especially her dog Jazz. She dedicated herself to loving and providing for her children and taking care of their home. Having lived in Maryland most of her life, her daughters, Donna and Joan were blessed to have moved her to South Carolina in 2019. Gerri thrived while in South Carolina and spent the last four years enjoying the warm weather and special time with her daughters.

Surviving is her Son, Michael Nemchick (wife, Pat); daughters, Barbara “Babs” Nemchick, Donna Nemchick, Joan Boggs (husband, Harry); grandchildren, Anthony, Julia, Rebecca, and Michael, Jr.

Gerri will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery with her husband Michael.
