Eugene L. Sellers

Eugene Lesley Sellers, age 92 of Little River, SC passed away on November 3, 2024. Eugene was born in South Carolina on February 18, 1932, to Charlie and Annie Bell Sellers. Eugene is survived by his wife, Jo Ellen Butler Sellers, his brother Jimmy Sellers, and his sister Edith Gaitley. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Ed and Earl Sellers, and his sister Ellen Thompson.

Eugene grew up in the Robeson County area. He served in the US Air Force. After serving in Korea, he came back to Robeson County, NC where he married his wife of 67 years, Jo Ellen Butler Sellers. They made their home in Lumberton, NC. After being discharged from the Air Force, Eugene enlisted in the Army Reserves where he served until retirement. While in Lumberton he was active in the Kiwanis, he oversaw the Terrific Kid Program. He was loved and admired by the staff and students at the schools that he was associated with through this program. He coached Little League football and baseball.

After they both retired in 1993, they moved to the North Myrtle Beach Area. Eugene enjoyed playing golf and worked as a ranger at Azalea Sands Golf Course. Eugene loved his Lord, his wife, and his family circle which included relatives as well as friends. Eugene was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church.

Services will be held for Eugene on November 9th at Lakeside Baptist Church, 615 11th Ave N., North Myrtle Beach. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with a service to follow at 11am.
