Eugene Howard Stallings Jr., 73, began his eternal rest on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Howard, the oldest son of the late Eugene Howard Stallings Sr. and the late Emma Stallings was born July 26, 1948, in Franklin County. He moved to Oxford, NC after college where he resided until moving to North Myrtle Beach in 2003.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Kay Stallings; son, Chip Stallings and wife Haven Stallings of Wake Forest, NC; daughter, Shannon Carmack and husband Keith Carmack of China Grove, NC; two brothers, Eddie Stallings and wife Gay Stallings, and Kip Stallings; grandsons, Hogan, Cody, Cole and Gavin; great granddaughter, Amelia Carmack; two step daughters, Connie Athey and husband Tom Athey of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Stacy Jones and husband Rick Jones of Cary, NC; along with seven step-grandchildren.
He graduated from Louisburg High School in 1966 and graduated from Campbell University in 1970. He taught PE and coached at D.N. Hix from 1970-1980. He was a Teacher, Athletic Director, Basketball, Golf and Cross Country Coach at J.F. Webb High School from 1980-2003 when he retired. He was inducted into the J.F. Webb Athletic Hall of Fame. Howard was an avid golfer and was a member and past President and Vice President of the OD Shag Club.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church in North Myrtle Beach.
