

Frederick Harrison Minger, age 80, of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Born on April 13, 1944, in Elyria, Ohio, he was a son of the late Russell and Rose Minger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sandy Minger; son, William Minger; daughter-in-law, Ashlynn Minger; brother, John Minger (Mary); several nieces, nephews and granddogs, Hudson and Winston. He was preceded in death by his parents, along with his sister, Nancy Minger Cottone.
Fred was a Christian of the Methodist denomination. He was a graduate of Ohio State University and Kent State University. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. Fred was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. He was funny, kind, and always there for the people he loved.
He was enjoying retired life and golfing four times a week before he was called to heaven. Fred was an avid Golfer. He was a member of Sea Trail Men’s Golf Association and various other golfing groups. He recently went on a men’s golf trip to Ireland where he made wonderful memories. Fred cherished every moment spent with his family and friends at the beach. He loved cooking and was well known for his delicious ribs. He also enjoyed his granddogs. Fred’s smile, infectious laugh, and wonderful cooking skills will be missed by all!
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the spring. Lee Funeral Home and Crematory of Little River is serving the Minger family.
