Born in Philadelphia to Elizabeth Nicastro and Louis DuRoss, Genevieve grew up in South Philadelphia before later moving to Atlantic City, where she met and married the love of her life, William J. “Paul” Mall. Together, they shared 50 years of marriage and built both a beautiful family and a successful business side by side.
Genevieve was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul Mall; her brothers, Daniel “Sonny” DuRoss and Anthony Nicastro; and her granddaughters, Melissa Pappas and Sarah Phillips.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Michele (Greg) Moulton, Paula Modelle, and Genevieve (fiancé Gary Fatato) Czajka. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Frank (Amy) Torcasio, Daniel (Kellyn) Torcasio, Donna (Darren) Leary, Mark Prince Jr., Jessica (Adam) Nadle, Adam Phillips, Paul (Jacee) Kensey, Timmy (Kay) Prince, and Robert (Nicole) Prince. She was also blessed with a growing family of soon-to-be 26 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her tremendous joy and pride.
Alongside her husband, Genevieve helped build and operate Mall Iron Works, serving as the backbone of the family business for more than 45 years. Her dedication, strength, and tireless work ethic were instrumental to its success.
Outside of work, Genevieve found joy in simple pleasures and giving back to others. She loved playing Bingo at the American Legion in Little River and spent countless hours crocheting baby blankets for the Felician Sisters in Kingstree and for the OLSS Craft Fair. She also enjoyed helping her daughter, Genevieve, with projects for Arbor Landing Independent Living, always eager to lend a hand wherever she was needed.
Above all, Genevieve will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her quiet strength, and her selfless nature. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, resilience, and devotion that will live on through the many lives she touched.
There will be a visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the Narthex of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Friday, May 22nd. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Kind Keeper Animal Rescue or to a charity of one’s choice.
Her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with those who went before her and that her love will continue to surround them always.
Daughters Michele, Paula and Gen would like to thank the nurses, CNAs and the staff at Embrace Hospice for the loving care they provided to their mom and the support they gave to the family.
