

He was the devoted husband of Deborah Esola Miranda for 43 years. They married on January 29, 1983, and were the loving parents of three daughters, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
At a young age, George and his family moved from Puerto Rico to Brooklyn, NY. Following high school, George enlisted in the US Navy where he proudly served for several years. He worked with the US Navy Civil Service for over 30 years at the Navy Shipyard in Norfolk, VA.
Following retirement, he and Deborah moved to Little River and became members of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. In 2020, they relocated to Colorado but often returned to Little River to assist with caregiving of his mother-in-law. George enjoyed fishing, listening to 80’s and 90’s music with Deborah and most importantly, being with his family.
In addition to his wife Deborah, he is survived by his daughters, Tracey Phillips (William “Billy”), Brandi Lee, Misti Roman; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Harris, Kara Phillips, Connor Lee, Cheyenne Lee, Makenna Jones, Riley Roman, Emma Roman; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Melissa Caban, Enid Parades; brothers-in-law, Tim Esola (Manuela), Rob Esola (Phillip), Patrick Esola (Lisa); nieces, Maiya Caban, Jeanna Parades, Angelina Esola, Ariana Esola, Allesondra Jones, Michelle Munoz; nephews, Max Parades, Timothy “JR” Esola (Jennifer), Edgardo Miranda, Jr. and great-nieces as well as great-nephews, Elijah, Miley, Gannon and Braeson. George is also survived by his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Esola. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Nicholas Phillips; brother, Edgardo Miranda, Sr.; and father-in-law, Emidio “Tony” Esola.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church with entombment to follow in the church columbarium.
