George Anthony Sendrey

George Anthony Sendrey, 76, of Longs, SC, peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on December 17, 2020, surrounded by those who loved him.

George was born on November 11, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended St. Peter Chanel High School and joined the Air Force in 1962. He proudly served as an Air Policeman. He retired his career as an armed security guard for G4S Services Company at Bank of America. He enjoyed his free time as an avid outdoorsman and had a special admiration for firearms and all types of fishing.

George is survived by his loving spouse, Mildred Kay Sendrey; three children, George William Sendrey (Jennifer); Eric Anthony Sendrey; and Amanda Constance Yanchus (Gary); five grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Sendrey; Hanna Sendrey; and Ethan and Ella Yanchus. George was preceded in death by his mother and father, George Frank and Blanche Constance Sendrey.

There will be a memorial service at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio to be determined.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in George’s honor to Amedisys Hospice or SCDNR (South Carolina Department of Natural Resources).
