Greta D. Schindler

Greta was the devoted wife of the late Thomas Schindler. She was known for her gentle warmth and a welcoming presence that put those around her at ease. In 2005, Greta and Thomas moved to South Carolina, where they both fell in love with Carolina Shag dancing and enjoyed the hobby for many years.

She leaves behind her five children, Daniel (Jennifer), Eric, Andrew (Holly), Matthew, and Amanda (Tyler); eight cherished grandchildren; and her sister, Dara Laraway, and brother, Gary Strevell. She was predeceased by her husband, her sister, Darcie Nesbitt, and her brother, George Strevell.

With a compassionate heart, Greta found great joy in nature, genealogy, and her beloved dog, Tucker. Her warmth will be forever missed. A graveside service will be held at the West Ghent Reformed Church in Ghent, NY on June 26, 2026 at 1:00pm.
