Helen Virginia Bowen, 89, died Monday, October 3, 2016 at McLeod Seacoast Medical Center.
Born on August 31, 1927 in Hertford, NC, she was the daughter of the late Everette and Irene Layden Babb.
She was a loving and devoted mother and cherished her pets.
Mrs. Bowen is survived by her daughter, Mary Strickland (Frank D.); brother, Dr. Thomas J. Babb; sister, Alice Lee Babb, all of Little River, SC; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by Gordan K. Bowen and Wayne Stanley.
A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Monday, October 17 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of one’s choice.
