Helen Adelaide Crider Phillips, 39, died Monday, September 25, 2017 as the result of injuries from an auto accident.
Helen was a bright ray of sunshine to her family, friends, and fellow teachers. An encourager. A mentor. A giver. A woman of strong faith in her Lord—and not hesitant to witness and testify to others about Him in her life. Her smile always brightened up a room—always a gift of sunshine. The thought of her is like a warm embrace full of love. Her laughter was like music—sweet and contagious. Helen could make a friend in a moment that would last a lifetime. Her memory will bring a smile to our hearts forever. Helen was a Media Specialist at Cheraw Intermediate School and will be sadly missed by the students and staff.
God blessed Helen during her lifetime with three sets of parents, Jeffrey Stevan and Debbie Crider, Lanne and Joe Burr, and David and Gayle Griffin. She is also survived by her husband, Ashley Frank Phillips and six wonderful children, John David, Colten, Will and Jenna Kelly, Jeremy and Katie Phillips; brothers, Steve Crider (Kendra) and Josh Burr (Brittney); sisters, Tiffany Burr (Isaiah), Abby Ratliff (Tolly), Marcy King (Matthew), Sarah, Kristen Crider; and grandparents, Helen and Carl Hooks. Troy, her first born son, predeceased her.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, October 1 at Free Worship Church, 915 Chesterfield Hwy, Cheraw, SC 29520. Pastor Chad Vick will officiate.
