J Camille Peloquin Jr., 67, was peacefully taken into the arms of the Lord on Thursday June 8, 2017 while at home.
J. C. was born in Woonsocket, RI, a son of Phyllis Cook Silva and the late J Camille Peloquin Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Louise Valois Peloquin and his two daughters, Julie (Benjamin) Tipton and Diana (Adam) Smith; brothers, Ronald and Theodore Peloquin; sister, Linda Catauro and 6 grandchildren, Camille and Tanner Tipton, Abigail, Hannah, Sarah and Joshua Smith.
He will be remembered by his family and friends as a faith filled man who lived his faith serving his family and others in so many ways. He was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach, SC and a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 9039 at St. Brendan the Navigator Parish in Shallotte, North Carolina. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his actions in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and the US Golf Association. In addition to his love of all things golf he loved devoting time to numerous charities and organizations including Operation LAMB, Special Olympics, The First Tee, and Ronald McDonald house. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after more than 30 years.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM Wednesday, June 14, 2017 with a vigil prayer service to be held at 7:30 at Lee Funeral Home, Little River, SC.
A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, North Myrtle Beach, SC. Military Honors will be provided by the Seymour Johnson AFB Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Clubhouse in The Village at Calabash: 1099 Clubview Lane, Carolina Shores, NC 28467
Committal Services will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
