Jack Edward Flanders

Jack Edward Flanders, age 56, of Little River, South Carolina passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2023. Born on April 29, 1967 in Akron, Ohio he was the son of Edward Heffelfinger and Pat Flanders and the stepson of Russ Flanders.

A proud veteran, Jack served in the United States Army and the Virginia National Guard. Following his time in the military, Jack relocated to South Carolina, where he started his career as an IT specialist. Jack loved music, photography and playing guitar. You could often find him at the House of Blues listening to his favorite rock bands. Not only did Jack serve his country, but he also served his community by doing an abundance of volunteer work.

Jack loved animals, but had a special place in his heart for his precious rescue dog Maddie. Along with Maddie were his two cats, Alex and Geddy which are named after artists from his favorite band Rush. Jack loved working with Trudy and Bill and all the others at St. Francis Animal Hospital.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, JoAnne Flanders; son, Tim Hodge; brothers, Michael, Christopher; aunts and uncles, Wayne (Victoria), Janet (John) West, Ron (Sandra); cousins, Dawn, Kim, Lauren, Jason, Jonathan; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents Almeda and Wayne.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday August 18, 2023 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service for 12:00 – 1:00 pm. The Flanders family invites everyone to join them immediately after the service for a luncheon at Cositas Ricas, 4335 Big Barn Dr, Little River, SC 29566.
