
Born April 5, 1929 in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was a son of the late Charles P. and Esther Pennywitt Lang.
He earned a BS at College of Wooster and Masters at Shawnee State U, and was married October 11, 1952, to Nancy Carol Wilson for 65 years. He was a Veteran of the US Navy and worked as a Nuclear Chemist at Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant. He lived in Piketon, Ohio until retiring to SC in 1991.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Wilson Lang; two brothers, Lee (Mary Ann) and Rich; sister-in-law, Sandy; five children, Kathi Bettasso (Dan), Mary Jennings (Jeff), John, Nancy, and Jim Lang (Mary Kay); seven grandchildren Anthony Bettasso (Maria); Miranda, Carly, and Will Jennings; John (Anne), Tim and Nick Lang; eight great-grandchildren Kaylee, Kerstin, and Zander Bettasso; and Wesyn, Kamryn, Kielyn, Jack and Annaliese Lang. He is predeceased by his parents, brother Bill, and granddaughters Christina and Alicia Lang.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 5-7pm at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory in Little River, SC. A Celebration of Life will be on Monday, October 9, 2017, 11 am at Renovation Vineyard Church, 2310 Hwy 9 E, Longs, SC (casual dress).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Renovation Vineyard Church for TLC Barefoot School, Haiti.
