James "Buddy" A Bowen

James A. “Buddy” Bowen, Jr., 65, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022. Born in Columbia, SC on March 31, 1957, Buddy was the son of the late James A. Bowen, Sr. and Katherine B. Foster. He was the brother of the late Mary Kathryn “Kathy” Livingston.

A 1975 graduate of AC Flora High School, Buddy was a lifelong friend of everyone he knew. He was a proud supporter of the Carolina Gamecocks. Buddy worked as a maintenance specialist for eight years with Bluegreen Vacations.

A former member of Foundations Forever Buddy worked the sound system for services and was part of the Praise and Worship team. He was a talented musician playing the guitar, harmonica, drums and piano.

Buddy enjoyed cooking and his boiled peanuts as well as quiche were enjoyed by all. A devoted friend and family man, when his sister married Larry “Dodee” Livingston, he became part of the Livingston family. He was a kind, generous and well-loved man who will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his nephew, Johnathan Livingston (wife, Tiffany); niece, Faith Livingston; and brother-in-law, Larry “Dodee” Livingston.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory.
