James P. Luzzo Sr.

James Peter Luzzo, Sr., 83, died January 11, 2018 at his home.

Born on November 29, 1934 in Lyndhurst, NJ, he was the son of the late Louis and Philomena (Polito) Luzzo. A long-time resident of Hopatcong, NJ, he retired to South Carolina in 2006. James was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus as a Fourth Degree Knight. A loving father, he was active in his children’s lives, and coached their baseball and softball teams in the late 1970s.

Mr. Luzzo is survived by his daughter Donna Luzzo, his son James P. Luzzo, Jr. and wife Karen; two brothers, Louis (wife Lorraine) and Robert (wife Marianne) Luzzo; as well as grandchildren, Jacob and Gabrielle Ouellette. He is predeceased by his wife of 27 years Rosary Joy Luzzo, and a brother Peter (wife Loretta).

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Friday, January 19 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 pm. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 am Saturday January 20 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in the Our Lady Star of the Sea Columbarium.
