Jim was a devoted husband to Roberta Belak Vellucci for 49 years and a loving father to Michael James Vellucci and Domenic James Vellucci, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a proud grandfather to Trippson Michael Vellucci and step-grandfather to Greg Gibbs.
Jim passed away suddenly at his home in Little River, South Carolina.
A graduate of Youngstown State University, Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. He continued his education at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, where he earned his Master’s degree in Business.
Jim enjoyed a long and successful career as an accountant and consultant, working with McGladrey & Pullen (RSM McGladrey), Rotozip Tool, and ICF.
Jim was known for his adventurous spirit, his love of life, and his wonderful sense of humor. At gatherings in our homes or while enjoying time out with family and friends, you could often hear Jim sharing stories of his travels, usually with a cocktail in one hand and a cigar in the other. His contagious laugh had a way of spreading throughout the room and bringing smiles to everyone around him.
He loved boating, golfing, traveling, watching or attending the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers football games and, most of all, spending time with family and friends. Jim was also a talented cook and took great pride in his spaghetti sauce, which won several competitions at the Italian Workmen’s Club in Madison, Wisconsin. His treasured recipe continues to be used each year at Festa Italia in June in Fitchburg, Wisconsin—a lasting reminder of his love of cooking and the joy he brought to others through food.
Jim is survived by his brother, Anthony Vellucci (Donna); niece and nephews Adam, Ashley, and Anthony Vellucci; daughter-in-laws Sue Kennedy and Sidny Harker-Vellucci and many beloved cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Jane Vellucci, and his sons, Michael James Vellucci and Domenic James Vellucci.
Jim will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his laughter, stories, adventurous spirit, and love of life will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
