Little River

On the evening of April 10th at 10:27, Jan Maria Livingston went home to see Jesus and her loved ones that have gone on before her. She was surrounded by her hero, Bobby, her loving children, Kim "Tootee" and Mason, her precious grands, sisters, and loving friends.

Jan was loved by so many and affectionately called “Princess” by her husband, Bobby, and Gram-Gram by not only her grandchildren, but many adopted ones too. Jan’s loving compassion and generosity reached far and wide. (Humbly, she never let her left hand know what her right hand was doing.) Jan worked along with Bobby in their family business for 45+ years. But, when she wasn’t working, she enjoyed, believe it or not, ironing, “souvenir” shopping, special island trips with her dear friends, Wednesday day dates with her husband, or just simply sitting and talking with anyone. This community has so many special memories with Jan and for that, she will always be in our hearts.

Jan is survived by her husband, Bobby Livingston; son, Mason Livingston (Becky); daughter, Kim “Tootee” Hardwick (Brad); sisters, Barbara Campbell (Jim), Earline “Punkin” Strickland (“Sump”); and grandchildren, Bailey, Ana Caroline, Pressley, Will and Myatt.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday, April 16 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday at Living Water Baptist Church. Burial will follow at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens.

A guestbook is available at

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Kemo for Children, P.O. Box 1116, Little River, SC 29566.

Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the family.

Dear Bobby, Tootie and Mason,
I will always treasure my time spent with Jan this past year and a half. She was one of the best example of a great mom to me. I got to thank her the last time I visit with her. I want to also thank you Bobby for all you did for me. Also for being the best father figure I ever had.

My dear friend-You are so special in so many hearts. God bless your soul and those you left behind. I have so many fond memories of you. Always kind and smiling. You are an Angel gone ahead and we will all see each other sooner than later. You are Gods child as that is evident by the way you lived your life-loving, caring, consoling so many. Fly my friend fly!

Bobby and family, there are no words that can express our sorrow and sadness, but we were blessed to have known Jan as a friend and will have many, many cherished memories of her. Bobby and Jan... it's difficult to say one without saying or thinking about the other - the two of you will always be two of my favorite people. You've done a lot for my family and I will always be thankful for that.

Please know that Kim, Jackson, Hannah and I wish we could be there in person, but will be with you in our thoughts and prayers. We've been praying hard for your family and will continue to do so, saying a special prayer on Wednesday.

So many childhood memories include Jan, Bobby, Tootee, Mason, Barbara, and Punkin as well as extended family. Weekend trips from Columbia to the beach when everyone would come see us, Angie and I hold very dear. Jan was beautiful inside and out and her unwavering faith in our Lord certainly set an example many, many follow. Our hearts hurt, but Jan has been released from the suffering. Know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Much love to all,
Annie and Kimmy

Bobby: You and Jan have always been so outgoing and friendly to those around you, even those friends of your friends. Special occasions such as the annual regatta along the waterway have been celebrations of life at the Livingston home with a good dose of Christian faith.
Jan has earned her special place with the Lord and we're sure you know that and can find some peace in the days ahead. God bless you and the extended family.

Susie and I are so saddened by the passing ofJan. I can always think back to our high school together and closeness and unity we had at Wampee-Little River High School in the 60's. Bobby if there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to call. We will miss Jan's positvism and friendliness to all. May she now rest in eternal peace.
