Jerry Waide Tanner

Jerry Waide Tanner, 68, died January 24, 2019 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 19, 1950 in Gassaway, WV, he was the son of the Russell Waide and Juanita Raider Tanner.

Jerry enjoyed playing banjo, mandolin, and guitar. He was a member of Monks Choir, a Christian band, for 10 years. Jerry and his wife, Janet, who he married 20 years ago, enjoyed boating and fishing, especially with their grandsons. He was also an avid golfer.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Janet Lefler Tanner; sons, Russell Scott Tanner (Stephanie), Andrew Patrick Tanner (Jacque); stepson, Charles Van Shafer Drury (Sharla); brothers, Jack Lee Tanner (Marion); sister-in-law, Mary Tanner; and grandsons, R.J, Jeremiah, Drew and Lucas Tanner. He is predeceased by one brother, Jim Tanner.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, January 27 at Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church.
