He retired as a manager for Verizon prior to moving to Longs. He was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years Saundra J. (Yates) Barnes; daughter, Lee Anne Deegan (John); Son, John F. Barnes (Oziria); five grandchildren, Amber Deegan, Abigail Deegan and Adalyn Deegan, Stephanie Barnes and Johnny Barnes; brother, Raymond Barnes (Debbie); Two sisters, Jacquelyn Bittner and Nancy Barnes.
The memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2022, at the Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Highway 90, Little River.
