John Batchelor

Mr. John Alfred Batchelor, 69, resident of Carolina Shores, NC died February 26, 2017.

John was born April 2, 1947 in Guilford County, NC, son of Clarence Batchelor and Halcia Armentrout Batchelor. He was a resident of High Point most of his life, where he attended High Point City Schools.

He was owner of Select Masonry and worked in many areas of construction, also driving a truck, lawn maintenance, and as a technician for MedCart Works of Burlington, NC.

John was a US Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. In 1967 he was honorably discharged.

John is survived by his significant other, Ann Koontz of Carolina Shores; one granddaughter, Tiffany Campbell and husband, James of Thomasville, NC; one grandson, Justin Mason of Thomasville, NC; one great-granddaughter, Maci Campbell of Thomasville, NC; a sister-in-law, Diane Batchelor, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Amy Mason; son Richie Batchelor; a brother, Richard Batchelor.

He was a wonderful person, always helping others. He will be missed by family, friends and neighbors and three special cats, Mimi, Smitty and Wiggles.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 5 pm Sunday, March 5th at 5 Cleek Court, Carolina Shores, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262-7009.
