Jack was one of my favorite IBMers.  He supported my efforts in several early ship TCAM projects at McDonnell Douglas Health Systems in St. Louis.  He was great at finding bugs despite claiming that his "TCAM" belt sported the only bug he could always find.  He had a great sense of humor.

After living in Raleigh, NC for ages, he moved to my home town, Olympia,WA where I visited him on his 5 acre lot complete with an air strip.  Had a great dinner with prayer, holding hands, with his family where I found out he was a Cursillista like me.  He Catholic, Me Lutheran.  He was a good friend.  

After moving to Raleigh in 2011, I always wanted to reconnect.  Alas, that'll have to wait a short time compared to eternity when I get to heaven

Our daughter Hayley, and grandsons Hudson and Owen, are the beneficiaries of Jack’s life lived so full, so lovingly and with such integrity, and then passed on these same traits to his son Matt, who is modeling them as a husband, father and son-in-law. Thank you Jack (and Kathy) for that. Your legend lives on, and we are eternally grateful. 
And to Kathy, the matriarch of this amazing family, and to all of the family, our heart goes out to you, and we pray for only wonderful memories to replace your sorrow soon.

Dad (Bob Frey) and Uncle Jack were so close. It was such a comfort to have Uncle Jack fill in for some of those patriarchal roles in our family when dad passed away. Being around Uncle Jack was like seeing a little bit of dad again. The memories that I will always treasure were all the times that I was performing in Washington that Uncle Jack and Aunt Kate would come and see me perform (and drop off a box of cookies for the bus). I was so lucky to have the chance to travel over the summer to see Uncle Jack. My thoughts are with Aunt Kate and all our cousins right now. I can only hope that Uncle Jack and Dad are together, sharing stories, trying to one up each other some more, and having a good hearty Frey laugh together!

There never was a finer pair than these two. I don't know who has the better sense of humor. The stories were always the best when they told them together.

My Uncle Jack.  He stepped up in such a big way for me after my Dad has passed in walking me down the isle when the time came along. I think he was playing it pretty somber until we got to the end of the isle and the preacher said my full name but pronounced it "Fray". What's a Frey girl to do but sigh and loudly correct him in front of the whole congregation. Uncle Jack never missed a chance to laugh. I will deeply miss his big laugh, his animated story telling, and his big bear hugs. He was simply the best and a joy to be around. 
Aunt Kathy and entire Frey clan, my heart and prayers are with you as you celebrate his extraordinary life. Heaven just became a whole lot louder and funnier.

We have many wonderful memories of growing up with you all.  Uncle  Jack playing his guitar and singing are just a few. When Kendall and I were first married and living in CA Uncle Jack came for work and stayed a few days with us.  He took us to one of his favorite hangouts  he  used to go to while stationed there in the AF years before and what became one of our favorite places for awesome ribs & Golden  Cadillacs ~Poor Reds. I know it’s been mentioned what a great example he was, not only to his children but to us all. He truly lived his Catholic faith and it showed in his everyday life. We will miss you dearly but know you are in a better place and probably golfing in the clouds.

Frey Family, I am so sorry for the loss of Jack.  He was a wonderful man.  We were so happy that he made it up to see us In Avon Lake at our Business, as you can see from the photo we had a fun time.

Pinehurst with Pops for his 80th birthday.  We had an absolute blast.  This trip in particular, it felt like he had found the fountain of youth when we were out on the course with him. 

So blessed to have the opportunity to cherish some incredible memories with him. As I got older, I realized just how special spending time with him was.
He was the best role model a son could have.

Knowing Pops meant having the best example of what being a husband,  a father, and a man really is.   

So many great golf memories with Pops. What a great example ge was for all of us. I will miss late evening crib games after a hard fought 18 holes. 

Kathy, it just seems impossible that Jack is gone. We spent many hours together working and socializing, it was just the other day that Jack and I would have breakfast together before work or stop for beers at my house after work. Dianne and I wish you and your family the best at this time.

My favorite memories are spending the day  at Grandmas.  After eating we would have a bon fire and Uncle Jack would play his guitar. Singing all kinds of songs as we roasted marshmallows.
