This news made me so sad! My memories of Johnny, all good ones, go back to when we were five, if not before. He was always a genuinely good guy, liked by all. Every time I drive by the old Gregson home in Hamlet I grin, remembering how much fun we had on the go-cart track. Meg and Goose, you're in my prayers for peace and healing. Love to you all.

It's hard to believe.  I have so many memories of you when we lived in Cary. I kept Ginger when Kenny was born and you kept Lissa when I first went back to work. 
You had a wonderful disputation and always had a smile on your face. 
My thoughts and prayers are with your wife, Ginger,Kenny , Peewee and Glen.  
  Just know you will be missed.  


We are fortunate that a person of John Gregson’s kindness, thoughtfulness  and goodness came into out lives.   My family attended church in Princeton, NC with the Gregson’s before they left to fulfill their dream of coastal property and hanging out at the beach!!  My great granddaughter who was about three or four at a time was especially fond of Patsy and John. She would run down from the stage each Sunday morning, dodging the pastor.. .. straight to  Patsy to get her red kiss  and a stick of gum…..all the while, pretending to ignore John and getting a laugh from him. We will cherish the special times and events with John and Patsy, and thank the Lord for allowing us a short time together.  God Bless and keep you John. You will be missed !


I had not seen Johnny since leaving high school until 3 years ago when Jackie and I moved to Ocean Isle Beach.  We ran into Johnny and Patsy at church, on the back pew.  Johnny and I eventually partnered up to help take care of the grounds at the church with him taking the lead role.  I pulled him into kayaking the rivers  in the coastal area but he could never get me to take up golfing. He was a great friend and someone you could always count on.  He will definitely be missed. 

So many fond memories of Johnny growing up and thru the years. Seems like there was always sports in their backyard - football, high jump, pole vault (his Dad would take us to get cane poles)…  He was just a genuine nice guy.  Hate to hear this happening… many prayers for Glen & family!!

Regardless of the many miles between all of us on this difficult day, my heart is right there.  I am sending all my love to all of you… Johnny Gregson welcomed me into this family with open arms, with love, constant teasing, support and always a competition!

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Gregson family. I’m so disappointed I can’t make it to his memorial service Wednesday. I’m right here, but not available at the time of the service. Please know how much Johnny was well thought of. We shared growing up in the church and attending Hamlet High School together.  Continued prayers and blessings for all during this time of grief. 

So sorry to hear of John’s passing. I have many good memories of our childhood and continuing into high school!  Praying for comfort and peace for his family 🙏❤️

The Sea Trail Golf Club family is sending their thoughts and prayers to John's family and friends.  We enjoyed Johns smiling face and cheerful disposition at Sea Trail, as did so many golfers that were fortunate enough to encounter John while he worked.   The staff and members at Sea Trail will miss him.
