John R. Thomas

John R. Thomas, age 78, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at his residence. Born on July 31, 1945 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Troy and Ruby Thomas.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Rebecca Thomas; son, Randy Thomas and his wife, Angie; daughter, Angie Stout and her husband, Todd; grandchildren, Jameison Thomas, Austin Stout, Abbey Stout, Allison Mathison and her husband, Drew; brother, Troy Thomas; sister, Nancy Martin.

A family man and a friend to everyone, John enjoyed a good time and cherished each moment spent with his beloved family and friends. He was well known by everyone for his kind nature and extremely hard work ethic. With 45 years of experience in upholstery, John was the proud owner and operator of John Thomas Upholstery. No matter how busy life could get, John always made time for his family. John especially made time for his grandchildren. John and Rebecca could be found at every event or ballgame their grandchildren were involved in no matter the distance. In his free time, John enjoyed the beach, listening to beach music and admiring the Chevrolet Chevelle. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Molly Darcy’s Irish Pub and Restaurant, 1701 S Ocean Blvd, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.
