Born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Judy lived a life rooted in faith, family, and lifelong friendships. She attended St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic High School. Upon graduation, she worked for many years at Thomas & Betts in secretarial and administrative roles. She married LeRoy Fletcher Davis of Paterson, NJ, with whom she shared many cherished years until his passing in 1997. After residing in Toms River, NJ, Judy later made her home in Longs, South Carolina, where she continued to build lasting bonds within her community through neighbors, church, and volunteerism.
Judy is survived by her devoted only son, George W. Davis, her beloved daughter-in-law Stacy, and her two treasured grandsons, Andrew (18) and David (16), who brought her immense pride and joy. She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy, her parents Ann and William (Bill) Bombolis, and dear friends who were like sisters to her. In particular, her dear friends Mary and Thomas O’Brien (both deceased), and Dorothy (deceased) and Jack Fernandes, were like family to her throughout her life.
A devout Catholic, Judith was an active member of her churches and gave generously of her time as a parishioner and volunteer for as long as she was able. She found joy in fellowship, whether through her service, her love of playing cards and games, or simply sharing laughter with family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, selflessness, and unwavering faith touched all who knew her.
Judy will be remembered as a woman of deep compassion, steadfast devotion, and enduring love. Her legacy lives on in her family and in the countless lives she enriched with her friendship, humor, and service.
The family intends to plan a remembrance in Toms River, NJ, at a date to be determined, to inter her ashes alongside her beloved LeRoy at St. Joseph’s Memorial Cemetery, where her parents are also laid to rest.
