Judith Lee (Mimi) Hankins, 79, died peacefully at home Monday, August 28, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 21, 1944 in Greensboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Mildred Vaughn, She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ronnie Hankins. She worked with her beloved husband, Ronnie for 25 years in Greensboro before retiring to the beach where she spent many happy years.
Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Hankins; son Bo and wife Joyce Hankins; grandchildren Brooke Boswell (Tyler) and Justin Hankins (Taylor); great grandchildren Aleah, Hailey, Mila and Merritt. She had many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Mimi’s Passion was decorative painting and it brought her many years of joy. She loved the beach, being surrounded by family and friends, and crafts of all kinds. She was happiest when she was cooking and entertaining for a crowd. She was much loved and will be missed by all.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday September 2, 2023 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 – 11:00 am. Burial will follow at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens.
