June C. Tyson

Born in Bethlehem, PA, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Ethel Clauser. She graduated from Liberty High School and Coatesville School of Nursing. Throughout her nursing career, she worked at multiple hospitals in the Lehigh Valley (PA) and Miller Memorial Blood Bank until her retirement. June and her husband retired to Calabash, NC in 1998 to enjoy the weather and the beach.

June was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach. She was an avid bingo player and also participated with many social groups in the area. She loved playing mah-jongg, cards and Rummikub. She will be remembered for her smile and her love and commitment to her family.

She is survived by her husband Robert, children Christopher, Keith, Jenni, wife of Joe Makhlouf and Heidi, wife of Todd Taylor. She has eight grandchildren Iain, Noah, Anthony, Dominic, Jack, Ava, Gabriella and Francesca. She is also survived by her sister Diane, wife of Joe Plum and sister-in-law, Teresa Tyson, wife of the late Bill Tyson. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Clauser.

A funeral mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea will be celebrated on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 11:00 am with inurnment immediately following at the columbarium at the church. June’s family will receive guests beginning at 10:15 am at the church.

A reception will be at Sunny Side Up Diner located at 10068 Beach Drive SW, Calabash, NC beginning at 12:30 pm following the inurnment.

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Calabash Volunteer Fire Department.
