Karen K. Showers

Karen K. Showers, 68, passed away suddenly at McLeod Seacoast Hospital on Friday, April 14, 2023. Born on August 31, 1954, in Akron, Ohio, Karen was the only daughter of the late Richard Charles and Joan Hunt Chaboudy. She was the wife of the late Kim Showers.

A 1972 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, Karen participated in cheerleading, track, softball and field hockey, and remained in touch with several teammates throughout the years. On September 20, 1981, Karen married Kim Showers. They raised their two children until his death on February 10, 2006.

Karen was a dedicated employee of Home Depot beginning in 2002 in Chester, VA. In 2009, she transferred to the North Myrtle Beach Home Depot where she was currently a supervisor. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and most importantly, her family.

The birth of her grandchildren completed Karen. Known as Grandma to Ravyn and L.J. Grandma would spend countless hours making memories with her grandchildren at the water park, movies, picnicking at the beach, and play dates at the North Myrtle Beach Park.

Surviving is her son, Kary Showers, Hannah Anderson; daughter, Krystal Mante, son-in-law Joe Mante; grandchildren, Ravyn Kiser, L.J. Mante; brothers, Russell Chaboudy (Kelly), Richard Chaboudy, Thomas Chaboudy; sister-in-law, Kellie Benton (Ben); nephews, Michael Mrus, Matthew Mrus (Kristin); and numerous other nieces and nephews; Best Friend Kathy Linton (Darrell). Her brothers Greg and James Chaboudy, preceded her in death.
