Lila Bellamy Mungo

Lila Bellamy Mungo, 70, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 at home with her family by her side. Born on April 29, 1954 in Conway, SC, Lila was a daughter of the late William J. “Pete” and Edna Platt Bellamy. She was the loving and devoted wife of David G. “Greg” Mungo.

Lila was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach. She was a 1973 graduate of North Myrtle Beach High School and a graduate of Midlands Technical College. Lila was a dedicated Office Manager with Dr. Pierre G. Jaffe until her retirement. She had a love of dogs and her most recent, Mollie B. Mungo preceded her in death.

In addition to her husband, Greg, Lila is survived by her sister and brother in law, Edna and Joe Walker; brother and sister in law, Chuck and Pam Bellamy; niece, Heather Allison; nephews, Joshua Walker, Chip Bellamy, Charlie Bellamy and Chris Bellamy.

A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Highway 90, Little River, SC 29566. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Weather permitting, burial will follow in North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
