Manie Ephron Hill, Jr. of North Myrtle Beach, SC returned to his Creator on November 2nd, 2021, at Fripp Island, SC.
Manie, or Junior, as he was generally known, was born on July 26, 1949 in Lexington, NC to Manie Ephron Hill, Sr. and Ollie nee Nifong Hill. The youngest of six children, Junior attended West Davidson High School, graduating in 1967, and graduated from Davidson County Technical College in 1969 with an Associate’s Degree in Soil and Water Conservation. He married Judy Gale nee Mintz on July 27, 1969. Junior went on to serve his country in the North Carolina Army National Guard as an Infantryman from 1969-1975, receiving an Honorable Discharge as a Specialist.
Junior worked at Philip-Morris, USA in Concord, NC from 1983-2009, after which he and Judy retired and moved to the Myrtle Beach, SC area. Junior was a devout Christian, active in several churches, including serving as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at Bethel Baptist Church in Rockwell, NC; Park Avenue and Central Baptist Churches in Concord, NC; and Living Water Baptist Church in North Myrtle Beach, SC. He was known for his readiness to serve others; for his quiet wisdom and kind manner; and for his sense of humor.
Junior is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Karen of Lugoff, SC; his son Jason and daughter-in-law Amanda of Gastonia, NC; and his grandchildren Kathryn, Robert, and Jaxson.
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Living Water Baptist Church, 1569 Hwy 9 E., Longs, SC 29568. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Living Water Baptist Church Building Fund, 1569 Hwy 9 E., Longs, SC 29568.
