

He grew up in Jacksonville, Florida being one of nine children. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and joined the Marine Corps in 1963. He served reaching the rank of Sargent until 1967 when he married Cheryl. After their son Bryan was born in 1969 they began their life overseas starting in Liberia, West Africa. In 1971 their son Blair joined the family. Their travels continued to Venezuela, Ecuador and Sri Lanka. The Family had many adventures and have many wonderful memories. In 1980 they returned to the Washington, DC area. Tony retired from the CIA in 1995. He enjoyed retirement for a day and then was back to work. He retired for a second time from Northrup Grumman in 2017. He and Cheryl were Blessed with four wonderful Grandchildren who he adored. In 2017 they moved to North Myrtle Beach, SC.
He was the recipient of several prestigious awards in his career and he loved what he did. Tony loved traveling, boating, fishing, golfing, gardening, tinkering with cars and anything involving tools or his garage. Most importantly, Tony loved spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren. In retirement his favorite hobby was caring for his orchids.
He left us far too soon and will be he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Tony is survived by Cheryl Broadbelt Garcia of North Myrtle Beach, SC, his wife of 55 years; Bryan Garcia and his wife Mary Elizabeth Garcia of Haymarket, VA; Son Blair Garcia, of Chesapeake, VA.; Grandchildren Katherine Garcia and William Garcia of Haymarket, VA; Ayden Garcia and Connor Garcia of Chesapeake, VA; Sisters Anita White, Dina Voutour and husband Tom Voutour, Laurie Belinsky and Terri Skopke; Sister-in-law Iris Garcia; Brother-in-law Evan Broadbelt ; Cousins Kathy Garcia, Amy Beam, Sue Mori, Sara Ashton and Courtney Garcia; and 15 nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Marco Aurelio Garcia, Sr and Hazel Douglas Garcia; Sisters Elisa Hartley and Linda Rookard; Brothers Douglas Garcia and Marco Aurelio Garcia, Jr.
A Celebration of Tony’s life will be held in Virginia at a later date date with private interment at Arlington National Cemetery.
