Martin George Minder Jr.

Martin George Minder Jr., age 77, of Carolina Shores, North Carolina passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, January 10, 2022. Born on July 29, 1944 in Germantown, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Martin George Minder Sr. and Kathleen Thurmond Minder.

Martin was an avid tennis player, it was truly his passion. If he wasn’t working, he was playing tennis. Martin was an extremely hard worker but always made time to spend with his beloved family. Martin and Debbie relocated to North Myrtle Beach in 1988. Martin was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Martin loved to cook for friends and family. He also enjoyed spending time on the beach, fishing on the pier and he loved shagging to his beloved beach music. A stranger to no one, Martin had many friends and enjoyed making new ones. He was known for his contagious laugh and big heart.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Deborah Minder; ex-wife, Barbara Bryan; children, Martin George Minder III of Georgetown, SC; Christopher Minder of Carolina Shores, NC; Katherine Minder of Concord, NC; Melinda Grady of Calabash, NC; grandchildren, Mackenzie Kohler Brown; Cameron Stewart McKenzie; Weston Bellamy; great-grandchildren, Wesley and Graham Brown; along with several loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Martin also survived by his canine companion, Macy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on the beach at a later date, all are welcome to attend to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Martin.
