Mary Edna Adams, 78, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021. Born in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Mae Roche Walsh. Mary was the wife of the late Kenneth I. Adams and the late John W. DeFeo.
Mary worked with Computer Associates in Princeton, NJ until her retirement and continued with a second career in real estate with Prudential Real Estate, Monroe Township, NJ. Following her final retirement, she and John moved to South Carolina from Parlin, NJ in 2016. They enjoyed their time together until his death in 2018. Mary was a member of the community swim club and was an avid reader.
A woman of unwavering faith, Mary allowed her Christian values to guide her life. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and a former member of St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church, Parlin, NJ. She was currently part of a Bible study group and counted the members among her dearest friends.
With honesty and grace, Mary would speak her thoughts. Her words were chosen carefully as not to hurt feelings but rather not leave anyone wondering what she was thinking. She was adventurous, choosing speed boats over slow cruises and even zip lined with her family for her 65th birthday. Her laugh was infectious, and her smile would light up a room. Mary was a friend to all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Surviving Mary are her sons, Kenneth I. Adams Jr. (wife, Linda), Michael Adams (wife, Christine); five grandchildren, Melissa Rose Adams, Ashley Rose Adams, Ava Grace Adams, Andrew DeFeo, and Eric DeFeo. Mary is also survived by her sister-in-law, Charlotte Phillips who was kept near and dear to her heart. She is also survived by two step-sons, John DeFeo, Jr. (wife, Brenda), Robert DeFeo, and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Walsh.
