Melissa Moffitt Fulmer, 63, of Little River, SC, died December 7, 2019, surrounded by her children following a seven-month battle with esophageal cancer. She was daughter of Hilda Renegar Moffitt and John William Moffitt, both of whom preceded her in death.
She grew up in Chapel Hill, NC, and after graduation from Chapel Hill High School, she was employed by the NC Memorial Hospital and North Carolina National Bank. She lived briefly in Wisconsin and Tennessee before settling in the Myrtle Beach area. She had recently retired from Griffin’s IGA in Little River, where she was a devoted employee, manager, and friend to many long-term customers.
As a child she is remembered as being active and fun loving. Her favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz. A life-long Tar Heel fan, Melissa followed the UNC teams, always cheering them on.
She is survived by her children, JJ Fulmer and Crystal Fulmer; grandchildren, Bentlee Henderson and Brilee Henderson; brother, Matthew Ripley-Moffit (Carol); several nieces and nine cousins.
A memorial service will take place December 16 at 2 pm at Lee Funeral Home, 11840 Hwy 90, Little River, SC, with visitation from 1-2 pm.
