I doubt anyone will ever see this but after googling Meredith I found she had passed away last year. We were 1st cousins, born 4 days apart. Same hospital, only across the hall. We played together at our grandmothers all the time. I’m so sad at her passing and that I didn’t know. Please accept my condolences and sincere apologies for not communicating before

Merideth became a second mom to me when I became a Boy Scout in 1968. She loved me as her own son. Always giving to anybody in need. A true southern lady with kindness and grace. She truly gave more than she recieved. I will miss your friendship and company. Love you and may you rest in peace my friend.

That wonderful smile and laugh will always be remembered when I think of Merideth.   She was a warm and loving person who gave one hundred percent in whatever task she had in front of her.

Mrs. Meredith was our first neighbor to welcome us to our neighborhood. We stay across the street so we would see Mrs. Meredith take Mr. Gerald every week for an evening drive down the boulevard before she got sick. We always thought it was so sweet. They always treated us like family and she would call me just to check in. She will be missed.

We both were very fond of Meredith Smith and knew her for 32 years!  She was always happy and friendly when we saw her. She was like a hometown girl! Tom & Linda Jones, North Myrtle Beach

I do not know how long I have known Merideth and I can’t remember not knowing her. We were in Woman’s Club together but I knew her before then. A wonderful lady, friend, community minded, parent, just a special person. She will be missed by so many.  Special prayers and hugs to her family. Rest in peace in God’s loving arms my friend.

To me, she was always “Mernie”. My mom’s sister, and a funny and fun loving aunt who “lives at the beach”. Her home was always a wonderfully warm and welcoming place, and visits were always associated with unrivaled southern cooking, very sweet tea, and sunburns. I will miss her forever-until we meet again my sweet Mernie. I love you. 

To my uncle Gerald, Lawson/Jada, Gwin,/John, Hampton, Walker, and little Meredith-My heart breaks for our loss. But I know her loving spirit will be with all of us as we continue to surf the waves of our earthly timelines. She will be with us always. I take solace in knowing that she is no longer suffering. She wanted to do so much more than her body would allow these last couple of years. She was a force that just didn’t want to stop doing and 
loving. Now, the example of her giving spirit - all of her life- provides all of us with a model of how to project loving care to all. She will be deeply missed. Love to all~Mary Ann (aka “Mur”)

So saddened to hear the passing of my longtime friend, Merideth.  She, Gerald, my late wife Debbie, and I go back a long way.  I cherish the many fond memories of our serivce on the North Myrtle Beach Clean City Committee, especially building Yow Park in the Windy Hill sectiion of our coastal community and when we traveled to Washington DC to be presented with the National Keep America Beautiful award for the construction of the park.  I will never forget you, Merideth.  I will always miss and love you.  Like my Debbie, cancer did not win, Merideth, God did!  Her precious family can now take comfort knowing that she suffers no more and is in God's loving care.  Loving thoughts, hugs, condolences and prayers are with her special family, co-workers and many friends.  God bless you all.
