Michael J Alexander
April 26, 1942 – July 29, 2022

Michael J. Alexander passed peacefully at home surrounded by adoring family, friends and neighbors on July 29, 2022. Born in New York, NY and a 59-year resident of Spring Valley, New York, Mike was a seven year resident of North Myrtle Beach where he lived out his retirement to the fullest.
Survived by his two sons, Michael and Andy. Michael and his wife Lynda live in Airmont NY with their daughters Corinne and Kiersten. Andy and Brandy live in Campbell Hall, NY with their son Timmy. He is also survived by his sisters Ellen and Elizabeth. Mike is predeceased by his older brother Ralph and his former wife Veronica.
Mike worked over 20 years as an electrician for the Town of Orangetown where he was known for his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and cleanliness.
Mike was an avid Lionel train collector since he was a child. He dedicated time and space to his extensive collection. From the Overture of the War of 1812 to Sinatra to the music of the 1950’s his love of music was enjoyed for hours by all who gathered by his pool and cabana.
Known to everyone as “Uncle Mike”, he made strangers into friends and friends into family. He loved his family deeply and genuinely. His larger than life personality was loved and adored by everyone he met. He will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts and memories of many.
Services will be held on Friday, August 5th at 11 am at Lee Funeral Home, 11840 Hwy 90, Little River, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to McLeod Hospice.
