09/11/2009: Big Mike with the Loris Lions Club, standing tall out front over the southbound lane of Hwy. 701 atop the Hwy. 9 overpass, Loris, SC. Mike was a fellow Lion member and my personal friend. From all of us here in Loris, YOU WILL BE MISSED and I wish you GOD's speed and blessings on your new adventure. 

Mike was one of a kind. Thanks to my father, scouting and our love of the outdoors I was able to share time with him. We had many carports, hunting trips and stories 
He will hold a spot in my memories. 

I’m bummed big time! Janice, I’m so sorry for your loss. I truly feel your pain having lost a son. Your family and friends will always be there for you. 
   I met Michael in ‘06 through Mark Bender and the Sea Coast Anglers Fishing Club(SAA), became a member and that’s when the fun began. Michael was a take charge guy who knew everything, which, made my life a lot easier. Loved to fish, cold brews, big time handy, and a good friend. See ya down the road Michael, Carl Pennauchi

Janice, I’m so sorry to hear about Mike. He was one of a kind and always had the biggest heart. Always willing to help anyone. I’m shocked n saddened at the sad news of my good friend Mike Haggie’s leaving this life . Mike was a man’s man . He never met a stranger . Always with a smile n a story . Blessed with a very high I Q  and a passion for reading , Mike was a wealth of knowledge . He knew quite a bit about most things n many times left me smiling n shaking my head at the subjects he could speak with confidence and detail about . 
Mike seemed to have endless energy . Never content to let a day pass without doing something productive . Mike had a great pair of working hands to go with his wealth of knowledge. He could do just about anything with his hands , Fix anything that was broken , come up with innovative ideas it make improvements to just about anything  . Mike  was a true friend , quick to help just about anyone . A people person who would work tirelessly to help any of his countless friends . I just can’t say enough good things about my good friend Mike Haggie . May he rest in peace , he will be missed by many
