Michele Ann Dunphy

Michele Ann Dunphy, age 76, of Calabash, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024. Born on September 3, 1947 in the Bronx, New York, she was the daughter of the late Michael Auliso and Sophia Gaglio.

Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years Donald D. Dunphy; sister, Carol O’Reilly; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Davis and step mother, Lillian Auliso.

A devout Christian, Michele was a member of St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Shallotte. She and her husband Donald relocated from New Jersey to Calabash in 2008. With a work ethic like no other, Michele worked extremely hard most of her life as an administrative assistant in commercial design. Michele truly loved life and she inspired so many others who she crossed paths with. In her earlier years, she loved crafts and reading. Michele enjoyed volunteering at her community hospital in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. She was also the past president of the Women’s Club in Butler, New Jersey.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 19, 2024 at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church. A prayer service will be held at 3:00 PM with a visitation to immediately follow until 5:00 PM on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Lee Funeral Home & Crematory, 11840 Hwy 90 Little River, SC 29566.

In lieu of flower, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice or the MS Foundation.
