Monica I. McConnell, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2023. Born on August 24, 1950, in Baltimore, MD, Monica was a daughter of the late James F. and Mary Valentovic Deitz. She was the loving and devoted wife for 51 years to Edward McConnell.
In 2007, Monica and Ed moved from Baltimore, MD to Longs, SC. She attended the Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Loris.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Ed, is her twin sister, Mary Jones; sister, Frannie Erline; brothers, James Dietz, Jr.. and Leonard Deitz. Also surviving are sibling’s spouses as well as many nephews and nieces and their families. She was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Tompakov.
