Nancy was born on October 9, 1943, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Roy and Bessie Ritter. She had a brother, Bill, and a sister, Deanna. Her parents and brother preceded her in death.
Nancy married Joseph "Joey" John Bunnicelli on October 7, 1968, in Miami Beach, Florida. Together, they welcomed their son, John Joseph Bunnicelli. Joey passed away on February 15, 2008.
Nancy worked in claims at Walmart before retiring and later returning to work there. Many of the people she met there became close and lasting friends.
Nancy was deeply devoted to the people she loved. Full of energy and always on the go, she could work circles around just about anyone. Naturally funny, she had a warm and engaging demeanor that drew people to her. She was always willing to help someone in need and had a way of leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. To know Nancy was to love her, and she will be remembered for her generous heart, her sense of humor, and the genuine care she showed to others.
Known lovingly as "Nanny" to her family, Nancy is survived by her son, John Bunnicelli, and his wife, Sandi, of Crestview, Florida. She is also survived by four grandsons, all from Crestview: Justin Fowler; Joseph Bunnicelli, currently serving in the United States Air Force; Alex Fowler; and Anthony Bunnicelli. Justin and his wife, Amber, welcomed their daughter, Autumn Fowler, in 2025, giving Nancy the special joy of becoming a great-grandmother.
Nancy is also survived by her sister, Deanna Clotfelter of Ocala, Florida, and her beloved nieces, Suzette (Kevin) Weddington-Moore and Lynette (Kenny) Rodrigue, along with other extended family members.
Later in life, Nancy married Roy Lee Hunter, with whom she shared six years of marriage. Roy lovingly called her his "Angel." He passed away on May 20, 2021. Roy's family remained an important part of Nancy's life, including his children, Rod (Dennise) Hunter, Todd Hunter, and Wendy (Kyle) Westerman; his brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Sherry Hunter; and his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Dave Royen. Their care, kindness, and friendship meant a great deal to Nancy.
Nancy also treasured her longtime friendships with Linda Cavett and with Don Neal and his late wife, Edna, along with many others who loved her and valued her friendship.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Lee Funeral Home and Crematory in Little River, South Carolina. Nancy had been looking forward to returning to Crestview to be closer to her family. In honor of that wish, a memorial service celebrating Nancy's life will be held on September 20, 2026 from 1:00 to 6:00 PM at The Loft on Main. 544 Main St. Crestview, Florida 32536.
