Nancy Steele

Nancy Lee Steele, 80, of Little River, South Carolina, passed away on December 14, 2023. She was born on May 16, 1943, in Richmond, Virginia. Nancy was a kind and caring woman with a faith-filled spirit, and she was loved by all who knew her.

Nancy is survived by her sisters, Joanne Johnson and Karen Pierce; her brother, Stanley Blair; her children, Annette Pruett (David) and Marsha Alterescu; her stepchildren, Juanita Steele Pulley (Darrell), Renee Steele Hamilton (Scott), Denise Steele (Jackie), and William Gregory Steele, Sr. She adored her ten grandchildren, Brandon Chambers, Kayla Chambers, Jackson Steele, Will Steele, Jaden Steele, Gracie Fleming, Maggie Fleming, Richard Peltier, Jessica Williams, and Erik Alterescu. Nancy is also survived by her sister-in-law, Anne McMennamy; brother-in-law, Jerry Steele; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of thirty-six years, William Paul Steele, Jr.

A ceremony to honor Nancy’s life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 27th, at Fork Baptist Church in Bumpass, Virginia.

Nancy Lee Steele will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her kind and caring nature will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
