On the early morning of January 21, 2025, Norma Jean Robinson left her earthly body and went to be with her Heavenly Father. Jean was a remarkable individual who touched the hearts of so many. She was born on November 14, 1943. She loved her Heavenly Father greatly, from giving praise from her choir or taking food to his children that were in need. She loved her family whether you were biological or astray. Family by blood or added to the mixture, she loved you regardless! From a young age, it was clear that Jean had a passion for adventure. From hiking the Appalachian Trails to walking the sandy beaches on the East Coast. Her favorite hobby was gardening. She would produce such beautiful flowers that she would often gift to her church or a loved one on the mend. Throughout her life, Jean accomplished so much! She started a fire department on Double Island and sat on the Board of Directors for Hospice of Yancey County. Jean approached life with a sense of curiosity and joy! Beyond her professional life, it was her warmth that truly defined her. Jean could make anyone feel welcomed!
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Homer Robinson of Longs, SC; three daughters, Angie Miller of Longs, SC, Miachelle Hamby and her husband Richard Hamby of Jefferson, NC, Tammy Golden and her husband James Golden of Myrtle Beach, SC; seven grandchildren, Shawn Huskins, Brandon Huskins, Stephanie Miller, Kristy Hamby, Karrington Hamby, Luke Hamby, AJ Golden; Thirteen great grandchildren, Delanie, Lochlan, Elowin, Keeley, Kallie, Wyatt, Brody, Dylan, Zach, Jason, Natalie, Lettie, Dylan; one great-great grandchild, Addlin Seawall; sister, Elizabeth Cassida and her brother-in-law Roger Wilson; along with several nieces, nephews and her dog, Willie.
