Paul Richard Buckley

Paul was born in 1932 in Short Creek, Ohio, Harrison County to the late John Lester Buckley and Nora Ann Buckley.

Paul graduated from Pomroy High School, Ohio. He was a very proud Korean War veteran, who served 4 years with the military.

He retired as a Consulting Systems Analyst with NCR Corporation in Dayton, Ohio. He was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, he loved to read and he loved animals, especially the squirrels in his front yard who constantly amused him.

Paul was preceded in death by his best friend and wife, Patty, in 2014, who he cherished for 32 years. Also preceding his death was his brothers, Chris, Lester and Elwood.

Surviving Paul is his son, Mark Buckley of Coppell, Texas; daughter, Shannon Scherer, of Calabash, NC; two grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel; niece, Sandra Lucento; and sister-in-law, Nonnie Buckley.

He also is remembered by his family at New Life Church in Calabash, many good friends at the Calabash Community Center and his squirrels.

Paul has requested not to have a viewing, as he is being cremated. His belief was the time for seeing others is before they pass.
